NOF was established in 2004 and is situated on the Mbombela Waste Water Treatment Works (WWTW). This plant is our first factory to produce liquid and granular fertilizer from toxic sewage waste.
Sewage waste is received from the WWTW and processed with the Active Sludge Pasteurisation (ASP) process.
The ASP process sterilizes and pasteurizes the sludge in minutes. At the same time, Nitrogen (N) and Phosphorus (P) are added. N and P is two of the primary nutrients for plants.
The sludge is an organic material that contains all the micro elements required for plant growth.
MBN was established in 2009. The objective is to purchase raw materials for factories and to sell the products produced by them. MBN will also develop new technologies to benefit the ASP process.
Funding will be sourced for new fertilizer factories.
